  Crude liquid sulphur recovered from the fields ,generally brown in colour due to contamination with bitumen , undergoes a process of purification to a required specification . The crude sulphur is pumped to a number of submerged ,combustion distillation reactors and then to filtration units, some additions are consumed to assist the process of purification. Pure liquid sulphur is then received in pure liquid sulphur tanks , from here the sulphur is either pumped to liquid sulphur loading station where it is transported by a special liquid sulphur rail tanks to the customer , or pumped to a large storage yard where the sulphur is solidified in open air . After solidification at the yards , the solidified sulphur is then pulled down by a giant excavator crumbled to required sizes and transported by sets of conveyor belts to the loading points . There are two loading points , a truck loading point and a rail loading point. Sulphur is transported to the final destination by either ways according to the plan of transport and the purchase order . Iraqi sulphur is of the following specifications which is internationally accepted in the world sulphur market :
  Purity of sulphur over 99.6 percent Organic material less than 0.08 percent Ash less than 0.08 percent Acidity less than 0.02 percent Moisture content less than 0.5 percent The sulphur is in solid bulk Mishraq sulphur is free from Arsinic , cellinuim and tellirium .
  Iraqi sulphur is exported to a number of agents ,Asian , European and African countries.
