The Mishraq project consists mainly of four industrial areas :

• Industrial area no. (1)
  Comprises the water intake of the Mishraq fields. Two sets of powerful pumps distinguished this area, firstly, the low lift pump group for raw water intake from Tigris river ,and secondly, the high lift pump group for pumping water after a first stage chemical treatment of the raw water to remove all suspensions and temporary hardness through a pipe line to the reservoir in area no. 2.
  
• At the industrial area no.(2):
  The water which is pumped out of the reservoir undergoes a second stage of treatment to remove all suspensions left out from the first stage and the permanent hardness and to get rid of the dissolved oxygen . The water after this stage, soft and free from oxygen, is pumped by a group of mine water pumps to the water boilers and steam generators. The hot water boilers produce pressurized hot water for melting of sulphur underground in area no.3 which is pumped through a 500 mm pipe line specially constructed and thermally insulated. The steam generators produce steam at defined temperature and pressure which is also received at area no. 3 and area no. 4 for the purpose of conserving the melting state of the sulphur to thermally insulated pipe lines. In area no.2 a group of air compressors produce compressed air which is transported by special pipe line to area no.3.
